Mary Bowling mbowling

Mary Bowling-im speaking at localupIf you’re like me, you’ve been anxiously waiting for a peek at the finalized agenda for LocalUp, a brand new blockbuster conference on Local Search that’s a hybrid of LocalU Advanced and MozCon. Well it’s finally here and you won’t be disappointed!

We’ll start out with Dr Pete and Professor Maps (aka Mike Blumenthal) drawing pieces of the big picture of local search at Google for us – yesterday, now and into tomorrow. I find that these types of presentations help me get my head into the right place for thinking realistically about Local Search, since understanding the history often helps me to better understand the present and the future.

Then one of our favorite Googler’s, Jade Wang the Community Manager of the Google and Your Business Forum, helps us to understand how Google thinks about Local Search. That’s always valuable to know. I addition, Jade will be here all day to answer questions and help us resolve problems with Google My Business.

Next up is yours truly with some tips and tools on keyword research for local and how to structure your website around your best phrases, followed by Mike Ramsey’s practical insight into how to come up with creative content that also scales. Next up is Darren Shaw with Review Acquisition Strategies That Work.

After lunch Cindy Krum and Aaron Weiche help us to better understand how to use the Mobile web for Local Search success. Will Scott gives us valuable tactics for using social media for local businesses and Ed Reese takes a deep dive into creating custom segments in Google Analytics and turning them into convincing visuals for your reports.

David Mihm, the common denominator between Moz and LocalU, gives us his tips on how to find your strengths in Local Search and build upon them, followed by Dana DiTomasso adding her creative ideas on injecting personality into your marketing.

Rand Fishkin will wrap it all up for us with entertaining examples of small businesses that absolutely dominate their niche in their location. There will be pleanty of time for Q & A throughout the day and you can count on rubbing shoulders with the who’s who of Local Search at this one-of-a kind event. If you register here, I’ll see you there!
