Hi Joy, thanks for the reply. We have sent them video walking from the outside into the office showing the sign outside and the sign inside the office, along with photos as well. When we submit for reconsideration, the reply is always “your business is not eligible to show” standard verbiage and then a reference to the GMB guidelines. The attorney the split away but still has a GMB profile that shows at that same address was reported so waiting for that to be taken down since it doesn’t exist there. So that would leave one other legit attorney in the same field of criminal defense at that office that he is renting space to, and then the personal injury attorney practice as well that has same address (same attorney for PI as criminal). Do you think both of these latter businesses (PI and the other criminal attorney) would have to be gone from that suite before they would consider reinstating? I’m not sure the attorney can move that has his listing suspended right now – he’s been there for years and it’s a legit office – he just rented it out an office to one other attorney and then started a PI practice too.

    Thanks,

Yeah, lawsuits can be a great source for links. But here’s been the process so far:
The initial lawsuit was filed against “Doe” an unknown person since we don’t know who has submitted our listing. From there, we can then subpoena Google for the info of who is reporting the listing and update that lawsuit with the person(s) names once we find out. If Google fails to respond or be cooperative, then we have to file against Google and then its lawyers will get involved (and perhaps a few quality backlinks too 🙂

Will let you know how it goes…

Great, thank you, Mike!! It actually had the “suspended” removed from the listing this morning. Thanks for pushing it through your back channels – I appreciate it!
We also filed a lawsuit last week and are subpoenaing Google to find out who is the culprit – will be interesting to find out.

This is great! Thank you, Mike!! As of this morning, the listing is live again. Also, we filed the lawsuit last week in Santa Clara and are subpoenaing Google for the docs to uncover who keeps reporting the listing.

Thank you sir! Let me know what you find out.
I appreciate it…so frustrating. Especially considering the last time in March GMB took so long to restore it we lost the entire listing that had a legit 8 year history ranking very well and now we’re starting over.

Thanks, Mike. This is the ticket number from the email GMB sent us today, [1-0196000026490]

Hi @mary @mike so somebody reported the profile again and yet again it has been suspended. This is getting so ridiculous. And GMB says the same thing, send us pictures of the business, etc…even though we’ve done this a dozen times in the past when it has happened.

But do either of you know of an attorney that has experience subpoening Google? – we need to find out who keeps illegitimately reporting the listing. If you could refer me to someone that would be great.

    Any feedback much appreciated.

    Hi Mike,
The same damn listing was suspended again!! Someone reported it again. Unbelievable. And GMB support just tells us the same stupid response – send in a picture of the door with the name and the business directory, etc.

My attorney client asked if you know of a lawyer that is experienced is subpoening Google so we can find out who keeps doing this. Let me know if you have an attorney contact.
    Much appreciated.

So an update on this whole racket of an affair with GMB.

GMB finally restored the listing after 3+ weeks. In spite of me calling every other day and sending whatever they asked for, it still took them weeks to restore the listing.

What is most frustrating and discouraging is that because they took so long to restore it, they had since deleted the original GMB listing…and that now means, we lost 8 years of a legitimate listing with signals that ranked it #1 in G Maps and Local Packs for years…now, many queries it’s nowhere to be found or buried on the first page.

And all because the listing was sabotaged by competitors. It’s a dirty world. This is definitely disappointing and discouraging with Google – just crazy this crap can happen to legit businesses.
