Thanks for your responses!
They are registered as two separate businesses but both work out of the same office. They handle different practice areas. One law firm handles personal injury while the law firm they partner with handles securities fraud, employment law, corporate misconduct, etc. so we would be able to put two separate categories on the listing.
They do have separate phone numbers, but I need to find out if the phones are answered differently depending on which phone number you call. They do have signage and paperwork that proves they are separate businesses as well.
We are working with our client to figure out if they want to move forward with updating the other listing. They don’t want to do anything that will mess up their map rankings either.
Thanks so much for your feedback!
I went ahead and did that and the filtering issue is no longer happening. I appreciate your help!
YESSS – affirmative – they were using BirdEye. I just learned they were autofilling the five-stars so Google penalized them?
Yeah, that’s all they disclosed with us as well. Whelp, thanks for looking into this! I greatly appreciate it!
Sadly, we didn’t grab screenshots. I do, however, have screenshots of the reviews. We use BirdEye, which helps make it easier for our clients to get reviews from past satisfied customers. The platform also keeps track of all the reviews left for the firm, so I do have screenshots – I’ve gone ahead and attached them to this comment!

Oh great, thanks so much Joy! I really appreciate your help with this!
So this client in particular is located in Pennsylvania with 5 locations:
Wilkes Barr, PA
Would you recommend we optimize for the biggest city location (Philadelphia) on the home page, or should we do the state (Pennsylvania)?
This client in particular has 5 locations. For others, we have created local landing pages for clients with as little as 3 locations to help them better rank for those cities…May 15, 2017 at 1:23 pm in reply to: Attorney Listing + Business Listing (Review Issues) #13707
That’s very interesting, I’ll have to keep that in mind for future clients, thank you!
And unfortunately, my client is one of many at his firm. So I’m assuming Google will not merge the two…that being said, would you convert the attorney listing into the business listing and then remove/delete the actual business listing?
Of course! Here is my client’s URL:
