So since this trick has been unreliable for us I guess we will have to go back to describing the steps to leave a review and link to their Plus page without the auto prompt.
Any numbers on request to lead sticking ratio? Been getting only 6% since we let them choose between G+ and Facebook and this trick issue.
As promised here is what I got so far. I think the students are going to love it. Thank you so much for sharing your advice.
Here is a compilation of advice to students from successful Internet Marketers:
Mary one day you’ll have to share your back story. I seems to get the most out of your presentations. And those bowling shirts for co-workers was really cool.
I definitely feel it’s about the way people think not their education. Didn’t mean to make it sound like I was taking it personally.
I’m getting feedback that the way people learn and think is critical. Somehow I turned out okay a business major. But I’ve always been an independent learner. Thanks for sharing Mike.
I can’t say enough about Asana.
What tools do you use for training new employees? I use Screen Cast O Matic to record and share common tasks.April 7, 2014 at 11:13 am in reply to: Yext-Viable Solution for Cleaning Up Inconsistent Data? #3734
There is no doubt that Yext understand the problem: http://www.yext.com/blog/2013/10/theres-no-such-thing-as-a-permanent-local-data-record/
Fact is everyone else does not like in this article: http://streetfightmag.com/2013/10/08/6-tools-merchants-can-use-to-clean-up-location-data/
Yext is in the best situation with partnerships already with major directory sites to change the rules and make a cleanup tool. I’m not trying to say that it’s all Yext’s fault people are miss understanding the use for the tool. I’d rather we not complain about it and find a better way to do a dirt job.
Find a search with the top 3 results like this and you will know the power of market domination.
Google search “service location”
ServiceLocation.com (PPC position 1)
ServiceLocation.com (SEO position 1)
ManufactureBrandWebsite.com/service-location (SEO position 2)
Now do that for every keyword that matters for you. This is domination and well worth it. Our leads increase 30% or more with this setup. But I have to say if I didn’t work in house and call all the shots it might be too hard to execute on. I own all the numbers, domains, hosting and conditions. Now my biggest problem is getting my dealers to handle all the leads.
Oh and to your point about multiple locations in 1 city. I just make a metro page with a map that lists all the locations and links of to their individual pages. Then I target all main city keyword searches to that page.April 5, 2014 at 6:39 am in reply to: Gaining the Upper Hand in Localized Organic Results – Mike Ramsey #3726
In my experience sub domains are harder to rank and pass less of the domain authority onto those pages. When you look at most major brand that have location and sub location pages, they do not use sub domains. Checkout http://www.rovepestcontrol.com/minneapolis-pest-control/bed-bugs/ and the marketing company in the footer. I’m just saying learn from my mistake. And keywords in the url are not spammy.
Mike I agree about how much work it can be and 1 site can be so much easier. But a website like servicelocation.com does a ton for click through rate. When you run a brand site, local website and PPC you can get some real estate domination. That is what I do.April 3, 2014 at 1:06 pm in reply to: Yext-Viable Solution for Cleaning Up Inconsistent Data? #3706
Thanks Phil. Keep up the good work.April 3, 2014 at 9:46 am in reply to: Yext-Viable Solution for Cleaning Up Inconsistent Data? #3703
Sounds like you guys need to get on Yext’s board of directors. They are grabbing markets hare and their core product doesn’t do what they claim. Maybe a tool like that should be made. Moz local might be a good first step.
