I just wanted to follow up again regarding our customer’s gmb listing that has been stuck in pending status going on week 8 now. The Facebook GMB group responded again late last week:
Thanks for your continued patience. While we do not have a specific update to share at this time, we can confirm our engineers are working to resolve the technical issue impacting the listing. We appreciate your interest in understanding the reason for the delay, but we are unable to share specific details related to the technical issue impacting the listing.
In the meantime, please continue to reach out if you have other questions or would like to check on the status of this issue.
The verification code was initially entered on June 17th. Have you had any instances that have lasted nearly as long as this one? Most of our suspended or stuck in pending verification lasted about 2 weeks, not close to 8 weeks like this one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Here is the link to the post we created in the GMB forum: https://support.google.com/business/thread/11071141?msgid=11071141
Please let us know if you have any other suggestions!
Thank you, Joy. We were provided a similar response from the Facebook GMB support group today:
“Thanks for following up. We’ve found that your Google My Business concern is the result of a technical issue. Our engineers are working on the issue, but they don’t have an estimate for when the issue will be resolved. If you have any further questions, reply directly to this message thread.
We will work on getting a post put together in the forum and send you over the link in this thread.
We have a situation where it does not, but they added a lot of cities to their service area. I am wondering if it is caused by limitations on how many cities/counties/zips you can include in your service area?
Thank you Joy!
Yes, they are both garage door industry. We had one account launch 6 weeks ago and their gmb listing is still in pending. The other account launched about 4 weeks ago and was removed from pending status after 2 weeks. GMB support is still quoting a technical issue, not a hold time:
“I understand the inconvenience you are facing and I assure you that we are doing our best to resolve this for you.
The reason the listing is in a pending state is because of an intermittent technical error, which our team is working on priority, to take care of. However, they have not given the magnitude of the error, I am afraid, we would not be able to promise a time frame.
We understand the potential threat to business it poses for you and wish we could have done more to take care of it right away. Though, since it is an unpredictable technical flaw, we request your cooperation to help us get past it.
I request your patience with this adversity and assure you that one of our specialists would get in touch with you to take care of your query, as soon as we are able to resolve this for you.
For more understanding, you can read through our New Google My Business feature & GMB Help Center to understand the product better and follow us on our official blog for regular updates.
If you have further questions related to this issue, simply reply to this email and we’ll be happy to help! For additional support on a different issue, you can always reach us via our Help Center.
We appreciate your support.”
Thank you. We have had other accounts launch after this one and they are already approved. This one is now at 6 weeks in pending status. Do you happen to know how they are deciding the queue?
How are they cracking down? Suspending listings?
Thank you Joy. Just posted pictures in that thread and I will have the owner take a video and post today as well.
My coworker Justin posted it on the GMB forum. Here is a link to that post – https://support.google.com/business/thread/5280821?hl=en
The listing is currently still suspended in my dashboard, but when you search for on Google it is showing as an unclaimed listing I believe. If you could take a look or escalate on the GMB forum that would be appreciated. GMB phone support hasn’t helped so far and no answer from GMB Facebook/Twitter support yet either.
The listing is:
Precision Door Services
2550 Corporate Pl c105, Monterey Park, CA 91754
I can also send pictures of the location/storefront or whatever else you need. Just let me know.
None that I noticed in the GMB dashboard. Is there any other place I should be looking to see any edits?
The listing did get review spammed as well a couple months back. In the matter of 2 days they got at least a couple hundred 5 star reviews that were clearly spam. We reported those and they were taken down. Do you think it could be some type of competitor sabotage? Is it possible for someone to make an edit to a listing that would cause it to be suspended?
Just as an update as well – I still don’t have the listing back up from suspension. Google reviewed it and upheld the suspension. They wouldn’t give any explanation why either. I re-sent them the storefront / signage images and asked them to have their technical team re-review so I am hoping a second review gets the listing back up.
