    Hi LocalU,

    I came across an E-Commerce site/business that seems to have identity issues.

    For argument’s sake, let’s say their legal name (and the brand name they have used for On-page and Off-page SEO) is Redearring. Their URL is redearringsonline.com
    There is a third variation of the brand used on fewer occasions, but I’ll try to keep it simple.

    Google ranks them well for their primary keyword(s) – red earrings – and some secondary and tertiary phrases, all of which could use a boost, i.e. red tassel earrings, red stud earrings and so on.

    They’ve been selling online for over ten years and have branded themselves on the Internet as both Redearring and RedEarringsOnline.com

    Also, the site owner has written all of their copy, and it shows – large blocks of text; keyword stuffed copy, meta tags and URLs; little if any formatting and writing in the first person are just a few of this site’s issues. The site could use and benefit from a proper re-write.

    My question is this: Which name (Redearring Vs. RedEarringsOnline.com) should be the rewrite’s focus regarding on page copy and branding? Should both names be given equal attention? For now, the owner just wants the focus to be On-page.
