We have a customer that owns a construction business. They also have a separate department/branch of their business that handles strictly chimneys. They are both run out of the same address, but each has their own website. I know Google’s guidelines deal with this to a certain extent:
“Publicly-facing departments that operate as distinct entities should have their own page. The exact name of each department must be different from that of the main business and that of other departments. Typically such departments have a separate customer entrance and should each have distinct categories. Their hours may sometimes differ from those of the main business.”
Are there recommendations on how to deal with all the details in this situation? It sounds like the business should use a different phone line to answer calls, so customers are directed right to the appropriate department. Is a separate entrance necessary for this to be allowed? Should the company be formerly registered as two separate businesses? What other steps should the business take to be deemed eligible for two business listings?
