Does anyone know of a good tool or service that monitors HTTPS sites and reports on errors that would appear to users in browsers if something is implemented wrong or a certificate expired?
Let me preface this by saying 1) I have not used either one of these; and 2) I’m not even sure they’ll do exactly what you need…..
I had a client awhile back looking for something like this and I was copied into a few emails with their host/IT team. 2 that were mentioned were https://Raygun.com and https://Rollbar.com.
I also have peripherally heard of https://Sentry.io
Hopefully one of these can at least get you started down the right path – maybe someone else has some experience with either!
Check out the forums on letsencrypt.org — there are a lot of folks talking about freely available tools:
I haven’t used any of these, but I think the folks at letsencrypt are genuinely trying to help sites implement SSL correctly, so their community might be helpful.
I’m a fan of Sucuri. https://kb.sucuri.net/monitoring/index
