I am still reeling a bit by your comment that the aggregate review shouldn’t appear on the home page… that doesn’t seem to make any sense since the home page should serve as an overview for the business. Do you have any further insight you can share on this? From a user experience standpoint it just seems wrong and I’m trying to understand Google’s logic here.
In recent times, at least in local, Google has not shown the aggregate review rating on most home pages. That occurred after wide spread abuse. So I don’t really know if its a policy or just an aesthetic decision on their part. It could just be even one of prominence. I still have occasionally seen them.
I would like to know if you are seeing/getting stars for your home page?
I don’t think there is any risk in doing so… if you are doing for the customer there is little that Google can say or do other than what they are currently doing… not showing it in search results. So I see no harm.
