Possible Ranking Update on February 24, 2021
Joy Hawkins

Barry Schwartz alerted me to the fluctuations in local search ranking over on our forum.  After checking a dozen or so clients of ours, I’m seeing pretty drastic shifts in ranking on most of them.  I’m seeing the same thing that Bright Local’s flux tracker is showing, which is that the changes started on February 24th.

The big shifts I’m seeing are on the local side, not organic, as you can see in this photo:

I’ve also seen several cases where businesses are now ranking further away than they were before, like this example:

I’ve reached out to Google to see if they can confirm if there is a local ranking algorithm update happening and will update this post if/when I get a response.

Are you seeing big changes as well?  Feel free to chime in and share your examples on our forum.
