Previously only spotted on the Google Maps App, logo images are now being seen by everyone on Knowledge Panels for claimed business listings. This is a reminder to be sure that the logo picture you have uploaded to your Google MyBusiness listing is clear and legible!

Brought to our attention by Jake Somsen on Twitter, you can now see the logo of the brand that owns/controls the KP

Update: We are seeing these very little/sporadic for bulk verification/management accounts – what about you? Thanks for BTerr for bringing that to our attention in the comments!

    We have seen this on some accounts but not all. We thought maybe bulk verified accounts didnt have this option but we did see some who were bulk verified as showing the logo. Maybe this is not fully rolled out yet?

    I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not 100% rolled out? Might also be country/region based – are you in the US?

    Also could be something as simple as a hard refresh needed….. We’re seeing it on most profiles from US & Canada, but not all. I just looked and my local grocery doesn’t have one.

    it could have something to do with logo upload for bulk accounts.

  • There is a long-existing bug in the GMB API – the logo doesn’t go into the slot in GMB dedicated to the logo when you push logos via the GMB API. This bug has existed since Google removed the profile photo. We have figured out a way around this for our clients, but the bug persists. This is likely why you don’t see many logos for enterprise/bulk brands.

      • You bet! And actually, it’s worth mentioning that the bug isn’t limited to the GMB API. If you try uploading the logo in the Logo field in a bulk spreadsheet, the logo also doesn’t go into the correct slot in GMB. GMB and GMB API folks are aware but a fix hasn’t been implemented yet to my knowledge.
