COVID-19 “Get Online Care” Links Showing on Mobile

This morning Mike Blumenthal shared an image showing the “Get Online Care” links were starting to show for healthcare businesses that had populated the “virtual care” link in their Google My Business dashboard.

We’ve also observed a new attribute showing up under the “About” tab in mobile that indicates “Video Visits” are available for that business under the “Offerings” heading.

While it’s somewhat apparent that the “Get Online Care” link is part of the COVID-19 resources Google has implemented, their silence on the “offerings” attribute could mean it’s something that might be permanent.

Right now its worth noting that the “Get Online Care link is only available in the US – and only on a mobile device.  We can hope that this rolls onto desktop search soon, as many of the most at-risk populations don’t search for, shop, or research on small screens.  Making these features available on desktop is the right thing to do, Google!
